Stageworks announces the launch of our new Did you see us at MOVE IT 2011 at Olympia, London? Interested in what we had to offer and want to find out more about our brand new Professional Company Course starting in September 2011? This course has been designed to meet the work opportunities of today's professional performer. A successful performer is a working performer and the course provides the triple threat student with an opportunity to train in a wide variety of performance areas, which can open future employment opportunities to them. As you develop as a performer with diversity and skill, you will be challenged with applying your training into performance. This will give you the experience and exposure to a professional life and how to meet its demands. The Company Course offers a different way to train. Each week, students will work as a Company in each of the key performance areas of Drama, Dance, Musical Theatre and Cabaret. You will be directed, choreographed and guided to create and devise work for performance. Students will also have a varied programme of dance, drama and singing classes to progress their skill levels, versitility and support their work in the Company. Professional preparation is essential to sustain a career and as well as audition technique you will learn how to handle your financial obligations, self promotion and developing opportunities for employment. We know that talent can miss out on training due to cost so The Company Course runs over and intensive three days per week and allows you to find employment on the remaining days to help fund your training. Students will be introduced to a local recruitment agency to help find you work. We have been operating student accommodation close to the studio facilities since 2005. For students wishing to relocate, we can assist you with this. Duration: The Course length is 2 years. Students train a minimum of 24 hours per week over 3 days for 40 weeks per year. A Bit About Us... Stageworks Full Time Performing Arts Course is an independent course that is designed to train students both mentally and professionally to audition at 3-year full time vocational courses. By being independent, we can advise and provide the relevant training and information for audition at any of the 3 year accredited colleges. The course has two directions of specialisation and aims to ensure students are guided to either the Professional Dancers Course or the Musical Theatre Course , whichever is the most suitable to encourage their development and aspirations. As well as the vocational qualifications that can be achieved, the course will also prepare audition pieces and have mock interviews specific to the students choice of college they wish to apply to. We aim to prepare the student mentally to be able to take on the challenges ahead of them. We are looking for the desire to perform and the willingness to train. The classes are aimed at different levels depending on individual abilities. Experience in all areas is not necessary as full training in all aspects will be given. 80% of our past students have received Dada/Scholarship funding at their next stage of training. Accommodation Facilities are available for students living outside the local area. Funding may also be available should you be successful in your audition. Classes will be small so that each student will get more individual attention from all our professional and qualified tutors. Examinations are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and are part of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and are recognised by the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET).
